Radio Rubber Room EP 51, Brother Bill

In this episode, Brother Bill stopped by to goof off and play some tunes of their new self titled album. It's a kind of coincidence that Shaun also unveiled his new release this week: Shauns Austin's Single Key Keyboard. Brother Bill definitely has more complex harmonies Mountain Dew during the show so he gets points for that. The guys also fielded some question from fans via Facebook and Twitter who where attempting to win a pair of tickets to Black Girls Vinyl release Friday night. Now everyone knows they're preferred cuddling method as well as their favorite Doritos flavor and ice cream preferences. Radio Rubber Room EP 49, Marionette

In this episode Marionette made there way to the center of the universe to be on the show. They gave a sneak peak of their soon to be released album, debuting one of their pre-mastered tracks and some intense live performances. Simon's mom definitely dug it. Based on the fact that know has heard from her since the show, we think she may have stowed herself away in Marionettes trailer so she can tag a long on there next road trip. Don't be worried though. It's not her first rodeo. She always has at least two flasks, a couple months supply of granola and a grapefruit on her at all times for situations such as this. She'll be able to survive in there for a while. Enjoy. Radio Rubber Room EP 48, Gypsy Healers

This show marked one year of Radio Rubber Room! Gypsy Healers stopped by and though they didn't bring any gifts to celebrate this historic date, they did bring some killer tunes. Though Shaun as always had some creative ideas on how they could tweak things a bit, these guys have a great sound and a good thing going. Enjoy! Radio Rubber Room EP 47, The Dream Machine

In EP 47 The Dream Machine made their second appearance on the show. The guys had been on close to a year ago, back when they were brand spanking new. Radio Rubber Room EP 46, DJ Williams Projekt

In episode 46 we had the pleasure of goofing off with the DJ Williams Projekt. These guys have a lot going on and have been a cornerstone of the music scene in Richmond over the last eight years. The DJ Williams Projekt is an epicenter of a musical web that spreads out all over the place. It was funny to learn that the whole band will be playing camp barefoot with other projects but not as the Projekt. Insanity. We were very happy that the guys drew some spontaneous inspiration from a member of our show. Everyone loves Simon's Mom but these guys really did and wrote and played a song dedicated to her on the spot. She is an inspiring lady. Radio Rubber Room EP 44, Mothball Fleet

In Episode 44 we called up Mothball Fleet into action. The Polka/Punk duo, Oompa and Squeeze cranked out their unique brand of tunes for us and we learned a lot about an often over looked genre of music. We had a blast goofing off with these guys. Radio Rubber Room EP 43, Saint Diablo

In this Episode, Saint Diablo became the first ever Metal band brave enough to enter the chaos that is Rubber Room. Only two of the three permanent members where able to make it so Saint Diablo did not shred live on-air. They did bring us three studio tracks to play and talk to us about what it's like being a Richmond Metal band. Interesting enough, Tito and Justin confessed that their influences range from Hip Hop to Flamenco. Though it's not always obvious, it all inspires the same sound that has shared the stage with diverse genres like Mushroomhead, and Busta Rhymes. Saint Diablo brought tons of personality that made for a great show. Listen! Radio Rubber Room EP 42, Soundstorm

In this weeks episode we had Soundstorm blow through the Rubber Room. The word "storm" worries us a little because twice this year our little station in Ashland, Va has lost power during some nasty weather. Luckily they just brought a hurricane of music and the lights stayed on. This group has a killer sound and energy. Like most bands they use the Facebook to get in touch with their fans but we learned that their bass player Gabe prefers a more old fashion method of staying in contact. In episode 41 we had Ryan, Ryan and Gina of the rock band No Dice stop by. They told us they had some big new to announce. We were pretty curtain we new what new what it was. Imagine our surprise when we found out they weren't finally changing Gina's name to Ryan and starting a musical law firm, Ryan, Ryan and Ryan. They actually had three big announces to make but we'll only let you in on one in this write up. You will have to listen to the show to find out the rest. They are about to release a new EP early in 2012, and they played us the new tracks. We really dug the new songs and as usually had a lot of laughs.
