Radio Rubber Room EP8 - Grinding Stone

This weeks guest was Grinding Stone, a six piece blues-rock-soul band that's been doing their thing for 7 years. Unfortunately only Chris Johnson (Guitar/vocals) and Allen Jarrell (drums) could make it because the rest of the band (VCU ALUMNI) had to be present to watch the game. We watched too and for nostalgic purposes gave score updates throughout the show. That didn't slow us down though and we made the guys from Grinding Stone open up and get mad stupid-funny with us. Radio Rubber Room EP5, Rock Band No Dice In Episode 5 of Radio Rubber Room, the Richmond Rock Band "No Dice" joined us to goof off, play some live tunes and have a lot of laughs. No Dice is a three piece Rock Band that features the Guitar, Bass and Vocals from Ryan and Ryan (Really, Ryan and Ryan switch off like every song, and they do it well) and drums from Gina. We had a wonderful time with No Dice getting real stupid with us and talking about their last album "Do Nice". They also spoke on the inspiration for their tunes, what there is to do in Ashland and what the plan is for their second album which will be self titled. Last nights show feat. Joey Ripps and Drastiq from Just Plain Sounds made for a Dynamite Episode. Plenty of laughter, low brow humor and intellectual conversation to go around. Episode 3 features The Rift (formally Caught In The Rift), a Richmond, VA 5 piece rock band with profoundly deep tunes. The guys spent 2 hours with us laughing it up and playing some of those great songs live, in-studio. The Rift where great sports that played along with The Crying Game where we made them guess which one of the three hosts (Dan, Derrick or Manzelli) cried to the obscure movies that we listed.
